There are more photos that I have taken about Fort Cornwallis. By the way, the entrance fees to the fort is RM 3.00 for adults and RM 2.00 for child (4-11 years old). The operating hours are Monday-Saturday: 9.00am-6.30pm, Sunday: Closed. The management also has other services such as:

According to the leaflet about Fort Cornwallis, Francis Light erected a fort of nibong palms at the tip of the cape which called Fort Point and named it after the Governor General in Bengal- Charles Cornwallis soon after taking possession of the island Penang in 1786. Fort Cornwallis was the first military and administrative base of the East India Company and the garrison of Fort Cornwallis consisted of a handful of Europeans who resided within the fort, and Sepoys, who dwelt in attap huts next to the fort. This star shaped fort mounted with cannons along the perimeter and the most famous of these cannons is the Seri Rambai which still located at the northwest bastion of the fort. Today, relics such as chapel, store, cell rooms and the gunpowder magazine are still remaining in this fort. History galleries from the early 1700 and staff with colonial costume now is part of the attraction to visit this fort.

Constructed in 1814 to store explosives. It was designed to minimize the damage caused by an explosion.

Yay, Snow!

What is it with snow that makes Asians go berserk? Ok, not all Asians since many Asian countries also have the four seasons. Well, Malaysians anyway. I was viewing some blogs about snow and winter sceneries and I just had to dig up some old photos of mine to post. Hahaha...it was a trip I made to Ontario, Canada about 13 years ago??!!!

Haunting Owl

When I first caught sight of a real life owl, I was really frightened. I was doing some cleaning at this rather deserted house. Suddenly I felt someone watching me from behind. I can literally felt EYES watching me, following every move I made! When I turned, my feet got rooted to the ground and I almost panicked as I gazed into these big round eyes.

At first gaze, I thought it was a statute that I had somehow missed or overlooked. But those penetrating eye wouldn't leave me. I started to move to one side and those eyes kept following me, like a robotic camera! It was spooky indeed.

When I finally realized that was a real owl, I was so amazed by it and started to admire it.

Some folks are fascinated by storms. I was surfing some nature and photography sites and came across this photo. I was just captivated by the brooding sense of the impending storm.
