Creative Adventure XII

1. While walking in my neighborhood I notice a dead end street that I haven't seen before. My curiosity getting the best of me I decide to walk down to the end. While almost at the end I notice that it was not a dead end after all. In fact it opens into a narrow path that leads to a cottage. What caught my eye though was that there is a huge garden just by the side of the cottage.

2. In the garden there is a maze. Thinking it would be fun I decide to try out the maze and see where exactly it leads to.

3. Now a little worried that I might be lost in the maze I turn the next row and see a small pond right in the middle of the maze. I have the urge to dip my fingers into the water and feel the coolness of the water. As I touch the water, I feel younger and lighter. I quickly took out my hand held mirror from my bag and was shocked to see my gray hair now a lustrous black again! Thinking that this must be a trick or something, I seek to get out of the mystical garden. I slowly trace my way back and as I exited the maze, I find that my steps are becoming heavy again. I am glad to be back on familiar grounds.

4. Relieved and walking back home I think to myself "Did I just get rejuvenated and aged again as I leave the garden? Would I have given up my freedom for eternal youth? Well, I find that I am happy to be back come what may..."

Pastime Repeats

~Pastime Repeats ~ What Is The...~

1. One Movie You'd Watch Over & Over Again?: This is a Hindi movie named Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This movie really brings out the intricacies of the Indian culture. In this movie, self sacrifice and self control triumphs over physical desires even on the legal marriage bed. Hmm...intriguing? Yes, it is.

2. One Book You'd Read Over & Over Again?: Being Happy! by Andrew Matthews.

3. One TV Series You'd Watch Over & Over Again?:
I wouldn't mind watching those CSI episodes again. Any versions whether Miami, New York, and there is that navy one. Argh...forgot the title now because haven't watch television for a long time.

4. One Song You'd Listen To Over & Over Again?: I used to listen to Through The Years by Kenny Rogers over and over again.

Creative Adventure X

1. While on vacation in Europe I decided to visit an old landmark Inn at the top of the cliffs. The Inn was the place to stay for the rich and famous during the turn of the 20th century. As I rode along the winding road up to the top I noticed a very beautiful lady dressed in a neat suit and a hat. She seems composed. Then I noticed her smiling and she blew a kiss to me! I was a little embarrassed and baffled.

2. Gathering my senses I continued to the Inn grounds and drove the long unkempt driveway to the now abandoned building. Stepping out of my car I walked to the door and found a yellowed leaflet, all torn and tattered lying by the side of the entrance. I can't help but pick it up as I noticed the poster is of a very beautiful and exotic lady. Well, she is almost nude in the photo but one can't miss the sensual post and alluring costume that she is wearing. I don't recognize the face and the leaflet really looked old and worn out. Then I was jolted by a thought that came to me all of a sudden. She looked like the lady who blew me the kiss just now!

3. Entering the enormous lobby I walked to the desk and opened an old falling apart guest register and as I was reading the list of guests who were part of the past of this once famous Inn I thought I heard some faint Indian music. I looked around for the source of the music but the place is obviously abandoned without any inhabitants. I returned to the guest list and nothing seems out of the ordinary until my eyes caught the name Margaretha Zelle. Well, I am not good with my history and facts but I can't ignore the name of the famous female spy Mata Hari now, can I?

4. Leaving this lonely ghostly place with a smile on my face I thought to myself if the Inn had been one of the places that the famous mysterious female spy had one of her rendezvous with those high officials in the past where she will use her seductions on gathering espionage informations.

My Personal Preferences

1. Quiet evening at home or Out on the town?
I like a quiet evening at home. After I had a skin problem, I feel easily stressed out whenever I go out or meet people. It used to be worse, I can't go out at all. Like having a phobia but now that I am mentally stronger, I am at least able to go shopping and hang out with friends if I choose to. Nevertheless I still prefer a quiet evening at home.

2. Watching a movie or Reading a good book?
I like reading a good book. Although I am not one of those people who can imagine vividly places, faces, or even smells when they read something, I am not like that. I like words because they make sense to me. Watching a movie is less satisfying.

3. Ordering a meal or cooking one yourself?
I wish I can say cooking a meal myself. I can't cook. So the next best thing would indeed be ordering one.

4. Going for a walk or taking a ride in the car?
Depends on the place and environment. In the city, I would take a ride in the car as pollution is bad for my skin. I would love to go for a walk at beaches, parks, hills or mountains. Not too sure about jungles though.

1. While cross-country skiing through an old country trail I notice a light through the trees ahead. Getting closer to the clearing, I see the light comes from an old cottage that looks inviting. I remove my skis and walk up the porch steps and knock on the door when the door creaked open on its own.

2. I step inside to a cozy living room and sitting in a big leather chair in front of the fireplace is a little old man. What do you call them, short about 3 feet tall people? Ah, dwarfs? This "little" old man has a very happy face. Although he was startled by my appearance, he quickly regained his composure. I apologized for intruding but try to explain that the door was ajar.

3. He smiles at me and offers me a seat and a cup of hot chocolate. We talk for a bit and he told me many interesting stories about the woods behind his cottage. One particular one was rather sweet. About a beautiful fair lady who got lost and wandered to the cottage, not in winter of course, and stayed for a year. She cleaned the house and took care of the old man and his brothers. It seems that someone tried to cheat the lady when the old man was working in the woods. Nevertheless, the lady recovered and she went to live with the love of her life in the city now. Then one of the old man's brother came in through the door. He looks almost identical in height with the old man except that he has twisted his face in a grumpy but adorable look. I tried to stifle a laughter when I see them both standing together.

4. Happy and warm I thank them both for their hospitality and go on my way, as I turn to wave goodbye I'm surprised to see that another FIVE short men joined the two men that I left! And they all looked identical in height and manner of dressing, mind you they didn't have pointed hats or wear weird tights for pants nor do they have any white beards, but I could almost sworn from the look of their faces... "Bashful," "Doc," "Dopey," "Grumpy," "Happy," "Sleepy" and "Sneezy." And I am thinking to myself that beautiful lady story...could it be? Snow White???

1. While visiting in Europe and driving along the countryside you spot a famous castle that has long been empty. Excited you decide to check it out. Your curiosity getting the best of you, you drive through the large iron gates to the castle and get out of your car and walk past the large fountain in the court yard to the main enormous door and before I raise my hand to knock at the beautiful golden knocker, the door creaked open. I push the heavy door apart and peep in. The castle is not neglected at all...

2. Entering the castle you are in a large completely furnished hall and a room with two large sliding doors closed on your right, a beautiful spiral staircase ahead and another room on your left also with closed doors. You decide to take the spiral staircase since I can't resist the magnificence of spiral staircases, picturing myself like a princess walking up those steps.

3. Much to your surprise you find unending rows of rooms in a long hallway. I decided to walk down the hallway when I found a room that has a unique door. It has beautiful carvings of roses and butterflies on it. As I sense a kind of warmth and no danger at all standing in front of this door, I decided to enter. It opens to a balcony instead of a room! There is soft music playing in the background and I found myself swaying as if I am waltzing with someone. I couldn't stop my feet. But it was the sweetest sensation that I am feeling and I never want the music to stop...Alas, the music ended and I slowly retreat out of that balcony and back to my car.

4. Upon leaving and driving off, you know you will never forget this adventure and think to yourself how did I learn to waltz like that? What was that music in the first place? I have never heard anything so sweet in my life.
