Onesome: 'Tis-- Hmmm... More or less an older contraction? Do you have any semi-archaic words you use regularly?
Actually I don't think I have any.
Twosome: the-- heck you say? Okay, how about a 'regional' saying you're known to be fond of? You know, the one the relatives just don't get when you say it on the phone... Sure, slang will work!
Sui ge -this is Cantonese for "you are bad." It is hard to explain how to use this phrase. It usually is meant as a joke. Like you tease someone that they need exercise or their hips would not get pass the door, and they say you are very "sui ge".
Threesome: Season--ings for the season? Mulled cider? Peppermint bark? Apple pie? What do you look forward to in the Winter months?
Ok, there is no winter here, so perhaps hot garlic bread, soup or pasta will do just it during the cold rainy days.
How do you pronounce that? Sui ge.
ReplyDeleteThat would be fun to use around here, LOL.
I have 3 (I think) Thursday memes up at my blog here.
Huh. I haven't really heard that particular Cantonese phrase used that way before. My parents are fond of using "dai tau choi" for calling us kids idiots when we do something particularly stupid.
