Pulau Ketam

Yesterday I went for a short trip to Pulau Ketam with my family members. Pulau Ketam, literally translated, means "crab island". It is a small island located off the coast of Klang. The island is easily accessible from the Port Klang jetty by ferry. The "floating houses" that come to view as visitors approach the island is a sight to awe any city slickers. Perching casually on long wooden stilts, these dwellings are suspended about one to ten (1-10) metre above sea level. I didn't realize that there are air-conditioned boats nowadays! The boat fare is RM 6 per person one way.

Mom and brother bought some dried seafood from these stalls pictured above. We went there a little late, so we only managed to take seafood lunch there and it is time to return. The last boat back was at 5.45pm. If we miss that, we would need to stay overnight there. tongue
