A Unique Touch With The Right Plaque

Can you imagine wandering down a street looking for a friend's house and all the houses appear to be almost identical and impersonal? Suddenly you come across a unique address plaque with a cat motive and your friend's name on it. Your friend is a cat lover and it is obvious that you have found his home. A personalized house address plaque adds a convivial accent for your visitors, and makes it easier to identify the location. It is a terrific means to personalize your home and add that all-important curb appeal. Many times, an address marker will be the initial impression a visitor gets from your home, so choosing the right marker is key.

In the past, a house marker may have been cast in bronze or iron or hand engraved in marble or other solid stone. This was an expensive undertaking and not affordable for most folks. Today, however, innovative  manufacturers offer reasonably priced address plaques and numbers constructed from alternative materials using innovative fabrication methods to offer a huge range of designs, decorations, and colors.

Most common today would be the address marker made from recycled cast aluminum. As the base material, recycled aluminum is not expensive and simple to cast in the workshop, making it an affordable selection for the homeowner. An aluminum marker resists corrosion and decay and with its powder coat pain finish, you are certain of numerous years of use without any upkeep other than an occasional cleaning with a water hose or power washer. Characters, digits, decoration, and borders are raised in low relief designed for an elegant, easy to read appearance. Usually there is a choice of many color combination that enables the homeowner to coordinate with the home. Plaque selections also include a great range of icons that associate with a way of life. For instance, the sailor can have a sailboat on a marker, or the huntsman can have flying birds. Marker personalization is not restricted to street and address number, and a name or message may be included if desired. Finally, most standard and estate sized address plaques have mounting possibilities, either wall mount or lawn mount.

Advanced milling machines permit whitehall address plaques to be engraved in solid stone at a reasonable cost. Plaques with rectangle, oval, and arch shapes are available in solid granite. As a natural material, the granite look will vary a bit from address plaque to address plaque, although the granite is available in choice of various colors. House numbers are deeply engraved and painted with a contrasting, weather-resistant color. The granite plaques are designed for wall mounting only.
