How do I earn from my blog?

I don't deny that I would like to earn some money from the time spent on maintaining and promoting this blog and my other, CoolChatBlog. Don't get me wrong, I do like to blog and write but at the same time, I need to make ends meet as well. Blogging happens to allow me to earn some pocket money while I teach kids as a private tutor. Edited to add that since I wrote this in October last year, I already am blogging full time now.

So how have I monetised my blog here? Besides Adsense, which is not so good with non niche blogs, I am trying out some affiliate banners which you can see in the sponsor section. It is not so easy because the commission is based on sales and not visitors or page views.

In addition to setting up advertisements on my blog, I am having greater success with earning through paid post with Payperpost, Smorty, SponsoredReview, BuyBlogReviews and Blogsvertise and already had sponsored posts and payment from the respective companies. They all have their respective rules and requirements for qualifying. Payout is generally after two weeks to a month of waiting period. Some pays earlier such as a week or so.
